AllCodex structures your grimoire using 21 canonical lore entity types. When the AI brain (AllKnower) extracts elements from your raw text or dumps, it assigns each note a specific #loreType label and maps it to a database template. These templates promote specific attributes to the top of your notes, turning raw text documents into structured database entries.

The 21 Canonical Types

The 21 lore types fall into four logical categories:

1. Actors & Groups

These entities populate your world and drive its politics.
  • character (_template_character): NPCs, PCs, historical figures, or villains. Promotes: fullName, aliases, age, race, gender, affiliation, role, status, secrets, goals.
  • faction (_template_faction): Political factions, major nations, or alliances. Promotes: factionType, foundingDate, leader, goals, secrets, status.
  • organization (_template_organization): Guilds, merc bands, shops, or local clubs. Promotes: orgType, purpose, foundingDate, leader, headquarters, status, secrets.
  • race (_template_race): Playable and non-playable species or heritages. Promotes: racialType, homeland, physicalTraits, culture, languages, lifespan, abilities.

2. Places & Spaces

The geography and cosmic order of your settings.
  • location (_template_location): Continents, cities, regions, dungeons, or coordinates. Promotes: locationType, region, population, ruler, secrets, geolocation.
  • building (_template_building): Specific structures such as taverns, castles, or temples. Promotes: buildingType, owner, purpose, condition, secrets.
  • cosmology (_template_cosmology): Planes of existence, stars, celestial bodies, or realms. Promotes: domain, laws, source, planes.

3. Lore & Mechanics

The items, spells, and TTRPG mechanics that populate your sessions.
  • statblock (_template_statblock): D&D/TTRPG-style monster/NPC sheets. Promotes: challengeRating, creatureType, size, alignment, ac, hp, speed, stats (Str/Dex/Con/Int/Wis/Cha), abilities, actions, legendaryActions.
  • creature (_template_creature): In-world beasts, monsters, or plants (less mechanical, more narrative than a statblock). Promotes: creatureType, habitat, diet, dangerLevel, abilities.
  • item (_template_item): Magic items, relics, weapons, or gear. Promotes: itemType, rarity, creator, magicProperties, history.
  • spell (_template_spell): Magic spells, hexes, or rituals. Promotes: school, level, castingTime, range, components, duration.
  • language (_template_language): Regional dialects, ancient runes, or scripts. Promotes: languageFamily, speakers, script, samplePhrase.

4. History, Narrative & Play

The events of your world and the records of your game sessions.
  • event (_template_event): Historical events, wars, battles, or disasters. Promotes: inWorldDate, outcome, consequences, secrets.
  • timeline (_template_timeline): A collection of events organized in chronological order. Promotes: calendarSystem.
  • myth (_template_myth): Legends, folklore, rumors, or local myths. Promotes: mythType, origin, tellers, truthBasis, significance, secrets.
  • deity (_template_deity): Gods, demigods, archdevils, or divine entities. Promotes: domains, alignment, rank, symbol, worshippers.
  • religion (_template_religion): Faiths, churches, cults, or pantheons. Promotes: deity, pantheon, tenets, clergy, holyDays, headquarters.
  • session (_template_session): TTRPG play session records and recaps. Promotes: sessionDate, players, sessionStatus, recap, hooks, gmNotes.
  • quest (_template_quest): Quest lines, bounties, or plot hooks. Promotes: questStatus (active, completed, failed, deferred), questGiver, reward, location, hooks, consequences.
  • scene (_template_scene): Individual combat scenes, social encounters, or set-pieces. Promotes: location, participants, outcome, gmNotes.
  • manuscript (_template_manuscript): Books, diaries, letters, or in-world texts. Promotes: genre, manuscriptStatus, wordCount.
